Baisakhi Mela at Nagbani craving for Govt attention: NPSU

JAMMU, Apr 16: National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) State president Partap Singh Jamwal lambasted successive Governments for ignoring culture and tradition of Nagbani area.
Addressing media persons, Partap said that the Annual Baisakhi Mela at Nagbani, which was started by Maharaja Hari Singh has been craving for Government attention.
Jamwal said that the Government is bent towards Kashmir and is ignoring culture of Jammu, adding that people of Nagbani had a legacy of nationalists and patriots. But, despite Government indifference approach, the people kept sweating hard to keep their culture alive by organizing melas.
Government should organize such melas to maintain legacy of the Maharaja and keep Duggar culture alive in J&K, he asserted.
He demanded that Government should constitute a Board or Committee which look after and organize such melas.
Among others present were Varun Badyal, Nittin, Shammi Jasrotia, Deepak Raj Panday, Kumar Naveen, Hardeep Singh etc.
