Bail plea in attempt to murder case rejected

JAMMU, Mar 9: Additional Special Mobile Magistrate RS Pura Slahuddin Ahmed rejected the bail application of Vikas Bharti and Yog Raj, who were involved in attempt to murder case registered with Miran Sahib Police Station.
After hearing Advocate Kesar Parveen appearing for the applicants and Prosecuting Officer Pawanpreet Singh for the State, the Additional Special Mobile Magistrate observed “where the offence is of serious nature, the question of grant of bail has to be decided keeping in view the nature and seriousness of the offence, character of the evidence and amongst others the larger interest of the public. The crime in the instant case is a crime committed against the society”.
The possibility of the applicant influencing the witnesses and tampering with the evidence and committing similar offence and thereby jeopardizing the investigation and thwarting the course of justice cannot be ruled out”, the court said.
With these observations, the court rejected the bail application of Vikas Bharti and Yog Raj, who are also involved in a similar attempt to murder case registered with Police Station Bus Stand Jammu.
