JAMMU, May 25: Sub-Judge Jammu Pawan Kumar Sharma has rejected the bail application of Ashok Kumar Sharma, an alleged cheater booked by the Crime Branch.
According to the report filed by the Crime Branch, Ashok Kumar Sharma entered into an agreement to sell with complainant on July 30, 2014 with respect to land measuring two kanals at Salalpur Tehsil in Jammu district and also took Rs 5 lakh as advance. However, accused neither executed the sale deed nor returned the money to the complainant.
After hearing Senior PO Puja Nijhon, Sub-Judge observed, “it is well settled law that grant of bail by a court may be a question of discretion but the same is to be exercised judicially keeping in view of the nature of offence, the chances of the accused further committing such offence and the chance of the accused threatening or influencing the witnesses”.
With these observations, court rejected the bail application.
