JAMMU, Oct 1: 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu M A Chowdhary today rejected the bail application of Umesh Singh, a resident of Link Road Jammu, who was booked under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
According to the police case, on September 6, 2016 a team from Police Post Parade intercepted Umesh Singh at Link Road and recovered 3432 intoxicant capsules weighing 1321.32 grams and 225 tablets weighing 2.25 grams from his possession.
After hearing APP Ajay Singh Manhas, who vehemently resisted the bail application, court observed, “the illicit drugs have a high addiction potential and there is gradual increase in their intake, getting the users dependent on these drugs both physically and psychologically”, adding “this deadly menace is required to be checked through strengthening the reinforcement”.
With these observations, court rejected the bail application.
