Bail denied in fake appointments case

JAMMU, May 6: CJM Sopore Amarjit Singh Langeh today rejected the bail applications of Gulshan Angura and Shahnawaz Ahmad Bhat, who were involved in issuing fake appointment orders of MES after taking huge money from the gullible persons.
After hearing both the sides, the court observed, “appointment orders purported to have been issued by competent authority in Military Engineering Services Department which complainant and three other persons originally produced before respondent police station, bear number, date, seal and signature of Working Engineer in Military Engineering Services. However, investigation prima facie indicates that these appointment orders are fake and forged”.
“Further, during the investigation, some more fake appointment orders purported to have been issued from the office of the Military Engineering Services were collected by investigating agency. Not only that, more persons are stated to have approached police making dazzling revelations in their statements pursuant to which five more persons including petitioner Shahnawaz Ahmad Bhat were implicated in the case”, the court further observed.
The court said, “only two accused have been arrested so far and remaining accused except Bashir Ahmad Dar, who is on anticipatory bail, are still at large”, adding “to dare the system by having recourse to issuance of fake appointment orders in the name of Military Engineering Services, is immeasurably a grave criminal conduct with horrible scales of deleterious impact on public at large”.
“Not only the investigation is at crucial stage but grant of bail to petitioners at this stage could upset the ongoing investigation”, the court said while rejecting the bail applications.
