Srinagar, Feb 16: Ten kilometer long Badnambal-Chowkibal road in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district is still covered under snow, resulting in massive inconvenience to the inhabitants of the village.
The inhabitants of the Badnambal, a far-flung village, said that there is no transport facility to their village and right now the entire road is covered with snow, forcing them to walk on foot.
“First of all there is no proper transport facility. Although in summers we see some vehicles but in winters nothing plies. We have to go and come by foot and right now we face huge inconvenience because we have to walk and that too over frozen snow in this biting cold,” said Shabir Ahmad Lone, a resident of Badnambal.
The inhabitants of the village expressed anguish against the District Authorities for not clearing off the road. “The Government claims that they place all machinery in place to restore the connectivity in wake of snowfall but this road is a glaring example of its false claims,” said a student, Sajad Ahmad.
