JAMMU, Oct 27: The Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) organized a mega exhibition at Bahu Plaza to commemorate celebration of upcoming Jammu and Kashmir UT Foundation Day.
The event served as a platform to spotlight the commendable achievements of JK Government recorded over the past four years besides emphasizing the rich cultural tapestry of the Union Territory.
The inauguration of the exhibition was presided over by Joint Director Information (Hqrs), Naresh Kumar, in presence of Deputy Director Central, Sunil Kumar, Deputy Director (AV), Dharam Paul and other officers and officials.
During the inaugural ceremony, Joint Director highlighted the proactive efforts of the administration under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha towards steering the UT to new highs of peace, progress and prosperity. The administration focused on providing equitable access to education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities for all segments besides rural development, a linchpin in overall progress, is being given special emphasis. He added that Jammu occupies a significant place among cities in India for having premier institutions like IIT, IIM, and AIIMS.
Joint Director further emphasized that completion of numerous developmental projects has not only elevated living standards of people here but also injected vitality into the local economy. A substantial surge in job creation across diverse sectors has been witnessed, thereby bolstering economic stability, he maintained.
The exhibition’s primary goal was to disseminate information regarding various policies of J&K government.
In addition, a vibrant cultural program was presented by the cultural wing showcasing a medley of folk and special composite songs encapsulating the essence of “Badalta Khilta Jammu Kashmir.”
