Haryana CM, Governor among others join

KURUKSHETRA, June 21: Under the supervision of Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, the 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated by Patanjali Yogpeeth in collaboration with Haryana Yoga Committee and Ayush Department of Haryana government at Brahma Sarowar here today.
On this occasion Patanjali Yogpeeth has organised free Yoga camps at 650 districts across the country.
About one lakh enthusiasts performed Yoga Aasans in Brahma Sarowar under the theme ‘One Earth, One Health’.
Speaking on the occasion Baba Ramdev said that 200 crore persons across the world are performing Yoga today and with this the present era has become the age of Yoga.
He also said that Yoga is the integral part of Indian culture.
The Yoga Guru informed that PM Modi has written letters to every village for highlighting Yoga.
“Now the Sarpanch and village heads will become Yogpanch and Yogpradhan,” he stated adding that PM, President of India, Union Home Minister and many other bigwigs in the country today are Yoga preachers.
Baba Ramdev also stressed on using country made things and boycotting the foreign products for the progress of our nation.
Speaking on the occasion, Acharya Balkrishan said that half an hour Yoga daily can give us immense health benefits.
On this occasion Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that a five-minute Yoga break will be introduced in all government offices along with a uniform Yoga curriculum that will be implemented in all universities and colleges of the State.
He also announced that to promote Yoga research in universities, a ‘Yoga Lekhak Protsahan Yojana’ (Yoga Writer Incentive Scheme) will be launched, with outstanding authors to be honoured annually.
“Additionally, 100 new yoga and ‘vyayamshalas’ will be established this financial year. Currently, there are 883 Vyayamshalas already operating in the state,” he maintained adding: “An international meditation hall will also be built at Shri Krishna AYUSH University in Kurukshetra.”
Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, State’s AYUSH and Health Minister, Kumari Arti Singh Rao and MP Naveen Jindal were also present at the event.
