JKPCC passes resolution urging Rahul to lead party
*Bharat Jodo Yatra gets unexpected response: Ranjan

JAMMU, Sept 19: The delegates of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee today unanimously urged party vice president, Rahul Gandhi to lead the party as next AICC president.
In a meeting of newly elected PCC delegates in Jammu today unanimously passed a resolution urging Rahul Gandhi to lead the party as next president. The resolution was moved by JKPCC president Vikar Rasool Wani held under chairmanship of Pradesh Returning Officer (PRO) Ranjit Ranjan MP, in the presence of AICC Incharge J&K affairs Rajni Patil (MP). The resolution was seconded by JKPCC working president, Raman Bhalla and passed unanimously by the raising of hands. 170 out of 172 delegates of Jammu province attended today’s meeting.
Earlier, AICC PRO  Ranjit Ranjan moved a resolution authorising Congress president Sonia Gandhi to formally nominate/elect new PCC president and AICC members from Jammu and Kashmir. The resolution was seconded by Vikar Rasool and passed unanimously by the house.
Rajni Patil, in her address, launched a scathing attack on Ghulam Nabi Azad for ditching the party after enjoying all important positions in the party for 50 long years. She said that Azad left the party at the time of crisis.
She cautioned the party functionaries and workers to remain cautious from the people causing damage to the Congress Party for their vested political interests. She claimed that party will emerge stronger in the days to come in Jammu and Kashmir as new leadership shall emerge.
Ranjit Ranjan, in her address, advised the partymen to strengthen the Congress party taking a jibe on Azad, that he has become Ghulam after 50 years. She said that Rahul Gandhi has attracted unexpected response during his ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.
Vikar Rasool Wani expressed confidence that party will emerge stronger despite defections by some opportunists in the party, who enjoyed all powers for decades. He asked the young and loyal party leaders and workers to come forward to lead the party.
Raman Bhalla lashed out at the BJP Government led by Narendra Modi for taking away all the exclusive rights to land and jobs and status of Statehood from the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said Congress shall continue to fight for lost rights under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.
Several other senior leaders spoke on similar lines and expressed full faith in the Congress leadership and resolved to fight for the rights and dignity of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Former PCC president GA Mir, APRO Sukhwant Singh Brar, former Minister Mula Ram, senior leaders Ravinder Sharma, Yogesh Sawhney, Th Manmohan Singh, Th Balbir Singh, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Ved Mahajan,Gurbachan Kumari Rana, Indu Pawar, Kanta Bhan, Rajnish Sharma, Pranav Shagotra, Karan Bhagat, Dina Nath Bhagat, Krishan Bhagat, Ashok Dogra, Hari Singh Chib, Pankaj Dogra, Rajesh Sadhotra, Sheikh Mujeeb, Sanjeev Sharma, Shashi Sharma, Pawan Raina, Parveen Akhtar, Udey Bhanu Chib, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Dwarka Chuadhary, Gurdarshan Singh, Suresh Dogra, Nadeem Niaz, Rajveer Singh, Ashok Gupta, Kuldeep Verma,  Deepika Rajawat, Kapil Singh, Sahil Sharma, Manjit Jatt, Kamal Singh, Ritu Chaudhary, Rajinder Singh,  Rajesh Gupta, Satish Sharma, Anil Chopra, Ch Aiyaz Ahmed and several others attended the special Congress meeting.   Later Rajni Patil, Ranjeet Ranjan along with PCC president Vikar Rasool Wani and working president Raman Bhalla and former president PCC, GA Mir left for Srinagar where a similar meeting shall be held tomorrow.
