JAMMU, Dec 18: Democratic Azad Party (DAP) chairman and former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today made a series of promises to the people of Jammu and Kashmir if his party is voted to power in the elections which included restoration of full Statehood, land rights and employment to natives.
Azad made the promises through a series of tweets from his twitter handle this evening.
“We promised. We delivered. If the public gives us an opportunity, we will bring real change. That’s my promise,” Azad said in one of the tweets.
On ‘We promised. We delivered’, Azad elaborated that that though his Government lasted just two and a half years in Jammu and Kashmir , it did ten times more than what he had promised during the elections.
“Don’t fall prey to false promises. It the public gives us an opportunity, we will bring real change. That’s my promise,” he said.
Azad’s assurances were, however, silent on restoration of Article 370.
He said his party will focus on restoration of full Statehood, land rights and employment to natives.
Azad said the works he had started and completed as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Health Minister, like creation of Districts and Tehsils, creation of jobs, construction of roads and buildings like colleges, hospitals, schools, flyovers, tourism and sanction of colleges will be carried out once again in double and triple shifts.
“Our party will ensure safety, security, peace and prosperity of every citizen of Jammu and Kashmir regardless of region, religion, caste or sub caste, so that every citizens can enjoy life with dignity and without fear,” Azad said.
He said his party will work to eradicate the problem of drugs/narcotics which is affecting our youth and families negatively.
“We will setup drug rehabilitation centres in J&K, and simultaneously go after and punish the elements who are spreading drugs in our society. These measures I believe will also greatly help in prevention of crime,” Azad said.
