SAMBA, May 11: An awareness camp was organized at village Supwal regarding various loan facilities through J&K Women Development Corporation (JKWDC) for skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled women folk of the State.
The camp started with the speech of Purnima Chaudhri, patron, Kalamkari Centre Society (KCS). She motivated the women folk to be self skilled and help her family and give their children better health and education. She also stressed that the women should live in a society with self confidence.
Jyoti Bhat (Field Supervisor, Kalamkari Centre Society) explained various schemes run by JKWDC for the school drop-out and the ones who could not complete their studies with one or the other reasons. The loan facilities for different programmes like cosmetic shop, crockery shop, boutique, dairy farming, agro based programmes were also discussed in detail.
The participants showed keen interest in dairy farming for which they have local market. The loan can be availed by the girl beneficiary at the rate of 6% simple interest.
