JAMMU, Sept 7: An awareness camp for farmers was organized today in Nagrota Block by the Horticulture Department.
Besides progressive farmers of the area, Sarpanch of Panchayat Nagrota Kishore Kumar, Sarpanch Dhok Waziran Raman Wazir, Sarpanch Panchayat Nadore Sudesh Kumari and Panchs of the Nagrota Block including Rakesh Kumar, Rajinder Singh and Amit Verma were present during the camp.
While interacting with farmers and PRI representatives, Horticulture Development Officer (HDO) Dansal, Sandeep Sharma explained them in detail various incentives available on area expansion programmes, creation of water resources viz. dug well & deep bore well, protected cultivation and tools & implements like power tillers and tractors.
The HDO also discussed with them organic farming concepts like vermi composting units, farm handling units and other components, which he said, will raise the economic status of the farming community. He exhorted the farmers to avail incentives on departmental schemes under Capex and CSS schemes.
