JAMMU, Nov 25: A meeting of Aarakshan Virodhi Manch Jammu (AVMJ) was held under the chairmanship of its president Ram Paul Seth in which threadbare detailed discussion was held over the problems being faced by unreserved categories.
Addressing the meeting, Seth said that it was unfortunate and bad luck of the country that caste-based reservation is still continued as a political gimmick in the country.
Seth demanded total end of reservation after the ending of reservation in promotion in the country following the verdicts of High Court of J&K. Mr Seth lambasted the Government for ignoring and neglecting the poor, needy and deserving candidates of unreserved categories.
Seth termed reservation a temporary arrangement for limited period and not a fundamental right as claimed by some political leaders.
Yash Paul Sanson, general secretary of the manch demanded special support measure (SSM) for the people who are needy and deserving irrespective of their caste, religion and region.
