Srinagar, Nov 16: Autumn brings Kashmir to life like a painted canvas, drawing tourists to experience the magical time of year when Mughal gardens are transformed into a vibrant haven of crimson red.
Kashmir’s captivating tapestry of autumn envelops the area in a golden glow that entices travellers from far and wide.
Known as “Harud” by the locals, this charming season transforms the famous Mughal gardens into a gorgeous sanctuary by painting the Valley in a vivid palette of crimson red. The golden and brownish tones of Chinar trees offer comfort to nature lovers and a calm diversion from the bustle of the city.
Even though tourists come to Kashmir year-round, they are always drawn to the unique allure of fall. “When the Chinar leaves turn crimson red and carpet the surroundings, it is truly captivating. I specifically came to Kashmir to witness the beauty of Chinars in autumn,” Warna Tripathi, a tourist from New Delhi said. Click here to watch video

We were married two months ago. The crimson red leaves of the Chinar make the ideal background for this momentous chapter in our lives.”
Another tourist, who spent two years living in New Zealand, said that the breathtaking scenery brought back memories for him. “This time of year,” he explained, gets the ground ready for winter. He emphasised how special Kashmir’s beauty is and encouraged others to visit the Mughal gardens, particularly now.
During their autumn tour, Pradeep from Kerala was astounded by the magnificent display of maple leaves. “Having witnessed autumn in the United States, seeing it here for the first time is truly remarkable. Kashmir is a place that everyone should visit at least once because of its unique atmosphere,” he said.
