Auto driver arrested with stolen goods worth Rs 30,000

JAMMU, June 19: Parade Police arrested an auto driver along with stolen goods worth Rs 30,000.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged at Police Post Parade by a person namely Abdul Karim, son of Gaghu Din of Malik Market stating that his two big parcels of goods (readymade garments) have been taken away by an unknown person in an auto bearing registration number JK02BC-4790.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 105/2021 under Section 407 IPC was registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team led by Incharge Police Post Parade SI Lalit Sharma was constituted under the supervision of SDPO City North Sharad Kalu.
The team after using the technical aid and with the help of analysis of various CCTV footages of the area finally arrested the auto driver, who was identified as Umesh Sawhney, son of Sunil Kumar of Gurha Bakshi Nagar.
During sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the above case and on his disclosure all the goods worth Rs 30,000 were also recovered.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
