Authorities providing ration in pick and choose manner: Councillor

JAMMU, Apr 23: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor of Ward No. 48, Sham Lal Basson has alleged that JMC is providing ration to slum area residents in a pick and choose manner.
In a handout he stated that district administration has provided ration to only 100 families of outsiders at Bahu Fort while he provided a list of more families.
He also said that JMC distributed ration to 46 of 257 families living in slum area of Kalika colony without taking him into confidence.
“I also requested Red Cross Society to help the needy families of my Ward but no fruitful result came,” he claimed, adding that the people of Bahu Fort area are pressing him hard for free ration and other commodities.
Basson appeal to the LG that three month ration be provided free of cost to Ration Card holders of J&K UT.
