Attempts of bovine smuggling foiled, 11 animals rescued

RAJOURI, Nov 27: Police today foiled two different attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued 11 animals besides arresting one accused.
Reports said that a Police team, led by SHO  Rajouri,  Inspr  Chaman Gorkha, laid a naka at Panja Chowk Rajouri and intercepted a TATA Mobile, bearing registration number  JK02AK-9692. Eight bovine animals were rescued from the vehicle, which was  on its way from Rajouri to Srinagar via Thannamandi-Mughal Road. Driver of the vehicle managed to escape.
In this connection, case FIR No.591/2015 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA has been registered at Police Station  Rajouri.
Similarly,  SHO Sunderbani,  Inspr  Narinder Singh Jamwal laid a naka  at Bajabain Sunderbani and  seized a  TATA Mobile JK11A-7317, in which 3 bovine animals were being smuggled from Sunderbani to Srinagar via Thannamandi-Mughal Road.
Police arrested driver of  the vehicle, who was identified as Dalip Kumar, son of Satpaul of Nowshera.
A  case FIR No. 71/2015U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA has been registered in this connection at Police Station  Sunderbani.
According to a Police handout, during the year 2015, 180 cases of bovine smuggling have been registered against 242 persons and 1049 bovine animals were rescued while  109 vehicles have been seized so far. The drive is being carried out on war footing basis with the aim to curb the menace of bovine smuggling.
