REASI, June 29: Police today foiled an attempt of liquor smuggling to holy town Katra and arrested the bootlegger. 38 poly pouches of illicit liquor have been recovered from the accused.
During checking at Sullah Nakka, Police Party stopped a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AH/7163, which was on way from Reasi to Katra. The rider, namely Mohd Arshaad alias Gani of Seela, Reasi, was carrying a black coloured bag, which contained 38 poly pouches of JK Excise Desi whisky, weighing 250/250 ml each.
Police arrested the accused and seized the liquor pouches as well as the motorcycle.
In this connection, a case FIR number 125/2017, u/s 48(a) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi.
