REASI/JAMMU Sept 29 : Union Minister of State with Independent charge of Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy and Mines Piyush Goyal, along with Seema Goyal visited Salal Power Station today.
He was welcomed at Ramlila Ground helipad by K.M.Singh, Chairman & Managing Director, NHPC Limited, Balraj Joshi, Director (Technical), NHPC Limited, S.Kalgaonkar, Executive Director, Regional Office, Jammu, A.G.Ansari, General Manager, Salal Power Station, Ravinder Kumar, DC, Reasi, Sujit Kumar, SSP, Reasi and Navdeep Singh, Commandant CISF. Goyal visited important components of the Power Station like Dam and Power House. All the senior officers of NHPC Limited and State Civil Administration accompanied him. A Power Point presentation was given at Power House to apprise the Minister about the running and maintenance activities of the Power Station, Year-wise generation charts, CSR activities, Swachhta Abhiyan and others.
Addressing the employees, Goyal congratulated A.G. Ansari, General Manager, Salal and his team of employees, working at Salal Power Station for efficient management of the Power Station. He also expressed happiness over the initiatives taken by Salal Power Station towards ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ and hoped that these efforts will gain momentum in the time to come.
K.M.Singh, CMD, NHPC too addressed the employees. During his visit, Goyal inaugurated Officer’s Club and planted a sapling followed by plantation by K.M.Singh, CMD, Balraj Joshi, Director (Technical) and S.Kalgaonkar, ED, Regional Office, Jammu and A.G.Ansari, General Manager, Salal and others.
The Union Minister also congratulated the Indian Army for surgical operations to safeguard the nation. While talking to media persons he said “we are committed to fighting terror in the region”., “I am also fortunate that I am in J&K at the time of this fight against terrorism., The attacks give a clean message to those who shelter terrorists and in future the terrorists will think twice before infiltration in Indian territory”, he added,.
He said Modi led Government is committed to power for all and we will definitely achieve this.
On his return to Union Capital Goyal visited the Party Headquarters at Trikuta Nagar. He was received at Jammu airport by Bharat Sharma Samapark Seh Adhikari of Union Minister of State in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh on the behalf of Minister, Ankush Gupta president BJP Gandhi Nagar Mandal and Kulbir Charak, general secretary BJP Gandhi Nagar Mandal. They also accompanied Mr Goyal to party headquarters at Trikuta Nagar.
Goyal said that he was keen to visit the recently inaugurated BJP Office. He was highly impressed on seeing the infrastructure and facilities available at the Party’s State headquarters.
