ATM guard’s rifle snatched, recovered

Srinagar, Apr 19: Police this evening recovered a gun snatched by some boys from JK Bank’s ATM guard at Pinjora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Police said that today some miscreants had snatched a 12 bore gun from a private guard from JK Bank Branch Pinjura in Shopian.
“Upon receiving information, Police in Shopian swung into action and started meticulous investigation. On the basis of accurate human & technical inputs, the boys were identified.”, police said
“However, the police decided to adopt a humane approach as the boys involved were found to be only misguided youngsters from the village. So their parents and senior citizens of the area were contacted and the search for boys was carried out”, Police said.
The gun was recovered and boys were let off after proper counselling. “General public of the district hailed Shopian police for a people friendly approach and assured cooperation in maintaining peace in the otherwise militancy  affected area”, police added.
