JAMMU, Jan 15: Astro India Automobile Private Limited–authorized dealer of Mahindra and Mahindra has today unveiled new Compact SUV KUV 100.
The occasion was graced by Jatinder Gupta, Vikram Mahajan and Pranav Mehta, Chairman, Managing Director and Director respectively of Astro India Automobile Private Limited.
The event was also attended by Abhishek Kotwal, ASM Mahindra and Mahindra Limited and Sampat Koul, CCM. Apart from them, the people from leading banks as well as finance companies were also present to grace the ceremony.
The KUV 100 is the company’s smallest SUV till date and the car will sit below the likes of XUV and TUV in the company stable. Mahindra is targeting the young, first time buyers with this tastefully designed compact SUV.
Mahindra has named KUV 100 aligned with its aim to target young customers. K in KUV stands for Kool–a word often used by the today’s young generation. What makes this SUV even more adoring is its overall design and styling. The car has some soft edges and host of sophisticated design elements which hasn’t seen on the previous Mahindra iterations. Its footprints maybe under 4-metre of land but even then, it looks every bit of a SUV. Side look of the car is muscular in nature and by placing the door handles on the pillars; Mahindra has further in fused excitement to its turnout. Wheels are pushed back to their respective ends in order to enhance the wheelbase; a move that is sure to liberate more interiors space.
Under the hood, new range of Indian family called, mFalcon will make debut via new KUV 100. Interestingly, KUV 100 will become a Launch pad for Mahindra’s first ever indigenously developed petrol engine, developing 83 PS and 150 Nm of max Power and max torque respectively. Diesel, on the other hand, makes 78 PS and 190 Nm. Both these engines are mated with 5-speed manual transmission.
The price for petrol variant starts from Rs 4.55 Lakh and diesel starts from Rs 5.35 Lakh.
