Asstt Prof in GGM Science College selected as NASA Research Scholar

JAMMU, Mar 18: Rakesh Kumar, an Assistant Professor in Electronics at Government Gandhi Memorial Science College, Jammu, has been selected as Visiting Research Scholar at NASA, United States.
His research work is related to the designing of advanced Nanosensors for bio-molecules detection and diagnostic applications. It is a Nanoscience and Nanotechnology area in broad sense.
The international visit for one year research project is being sponsored by the  Department of Science and Technology, J&K Govt and University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi besides partial funding by the Department of Higher Education, J&K Government.
Rakesh Kumar  will work in NASA till the completion of his research work or till next year 2014. He left  for US on March 3 and presently, he is in NASA, Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, California 94035, USA.
A native of village Abtal in Samba district, Rakesh Kumar is son of Kasturi Lal Gupta who is a farmer  by profession. He did his schooling from Government Higher Secondary School Ramgarh, graduated from MAM College and then did his Master in Electronics from Jammu University in 2001-02.
