JAMMU, Feb 27: Jammu Pvt Schools and ETT Institutes Association (Progressive) has said that State Government and its unjustified SRO-123 were responsible for the unfortunate delay in recognition of Private schools.
“On one hand, ground realities reveal that 6-7 rooms rented buildings have been hired by the State Government for running migrant Hr Sec schools without needed three science laboratories, primary schools are functioning in two rooms’ accommodation & middle schools in five rooms, whereas on the other hand every possible barrier is being raised for private sector schools,” Association said in a statement, issued here today.
The Association alleged that the State Government seems neither able to run its owned school education sector nor it is sincere towards private sector. “What kind of treatment ruling faces have given to this important portfolio of Education during last 18 years of Government tenure is very well known to everyone. Similarly what worst we have observed during the said tenure, is difficult to explain,” the Association alleged.
“Of course, violations by the stakeholders can’t be overlooked but was it not the duty of authorities to put everything on track? In absence of needed parameters, almost hotchpotch like working was deliberately allowed to emerge within private sector and in the name of so-called corrections, unjustified clauses were imposed & highlighted in different SROs,” the Association explained and alleged that the Government authorities were never found serious for putting the private sector on track.
The Association claimed that it had also apprised the former Education Minister Nayeem Akhtar about these things and sought immediate school education reforms based on debates among public, stakeholders, JK-School Board and the Government machinery but there was no positive development in this regard. “We are still of the view that instead of harassing tactics and blame game towards private sector, a meaningful exercise must take place from the Government side for an end to the existing controversies, Association observed.
