JAMMU, July 2: Dogra Sagar Sabha (DSS) has demanded the Government that a nodal officer be appointed in Uttarakhand to assess how many pilgrims had visited the Shrine and how many returned safely back to the State.
In a meeting of Working Committee of the Sabha held here today, the members condemned the Chief Minister for not attending the funeral of the ITBP inspector, Bhim Singh, a resident of Hiranagar (Samba), who sacrificed his life during rescue operations in extremely difficult areas of Uttarakhand. It seems that Government cares a fig for such brave soldiers, the meeting said.
The Sabha announced that a hawan is being organized on July 10, 2013 at 9 am in the memories of Uttarakhand victims and brave soldiers who laid their lives during rescue operations in Uttarakhand. It was appealed to people from all walks of life to participate in the hawan for the peace of the departed souls.
The committee members expressed strong resentment over the inordinate delay in the restoration of Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex despite the allocation and availabuility of finances in plenty.
The members also raised question on the silence maintained by the Government on the death of Chamel Singh in Pakistani Jail, whose vital body organs had been removed in Pakistan illegally. The Sabha members demanded urgent help for the family of Chamel Singh and a status of Shaheed for the him.
