JAMMU: Entire opposition on Thursday staged a walkout of the Legislative Assembly on the issue of Administrative Units in Jammu and Kashmir.
As the House assembled for day’s proceedings, NC MLA Devendera Rana raised an issue of formation of administrative units in 2014 asserting that all these units are still non-functional.
Supported by NC and Congress members, they said the matter was raised a number of times with the planning department but every time the Government made an excuse by saying that there is a dearth of staff.
“The State Govt has completely failed on making Administrative Units functional and it is misleading the House by giving similar replies all the time,” added Mr Rana.
The opposition MLAs however, entered into the well of the House and protested against inefficiency of the Government amid slogans.
The members demanded discussion on the issue but Speaker Kavinder Gupta disallowed it.
Opposition benches later staged walk out from the House. (AGENCIES)
