Assembly: NC, Congress stage walkout on Kathua incident

JAMMU : Opposition members from National Conference and Congress today staged a walk-out of the House on Kathua incident of clashes between two communities over alleged sacrilegious act.
Shouting slogans against the government, the NC, Congress members this morning created a ruckus asserting that the House proceedings cannot run as situation in the state is not conducive.
The House members alleged that the members of one particular community were thrashed by some villagers in Hari Chak area of Tehsil Hiranagar of Kathua district yesterday.
Protesting members also slammed the PDP-BJP government for ”communalising” the situation.
Meanwhile, Forest Minister Choudhary Lal Singh said that the opposition is unnecessarily creating the issue as it was only a clash between two families, which was given hype.
The opposition bench was demanding reply from the Chief Minister on the issue.
While the Speaker paid no heed to the words, entire opposition, including former chief minister Omar Abdullah, staged a walk-out of the House. (AGENCIES)
