GUWAHATI (ASSAM), May 19: Expressing his humble gratitude to the people of Assam for a decisive victory in favour of Bharatiya Janata Party, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh described it as a reiteration of people’s faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and stewardship of BJP National President Amit Shah. He also praised the BJP Karyakartas who had worked day and night, and shed their sweat to make this victory possible.
With the result of today’s poll in Assam, Dr Jitendra Singh said, a message has gone out loud and clear that, from Kutch in Gujarat to Kokhrajar in Assam and from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, it is only the BJP leadership under Narendra Modi which the people of this country, particularly the youth, are ready to trust. In a State like Assam, there are a number of youth related issues including the mass exodus of youth regularly happening to other parts of the country and it is the Modi Government’s road map for the growth of youth which has caught the imagination of the people in this North Eastern State, he said.
Striking a serious note while addressing the BJP workers at the Party Headquarters here, Dr Jitendra Singh said that this huge victory should prompt us to become more humble than before and to dedicate ourselves to live up to the expectations of the people and also to vindicate the faith that they have reposed in us. As the new government assumes charge under Chief Minister designate Sarbananda Sonowal, he said, a better coordination is expected between the State Government and the Center which will help in faster and more effective implementation of a series of pro-poor schemes initiated by the Modi Government.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, Assam is a nucleus State in the North-Eastern region and the development in the State has a positive and far- reaching impact even on the other seven of States of the region. If the people of Assam have decided to give BJP a chance to rule after more than six decades of independence, it is because they are aware of the fast-track development taking place in whole of India under leadership of Prime Minister Modi and they do not wish to miss this opportunity, he added.
