KHC for concrete steps on rehabilitation of KPs

JAMMU, Oct 29: All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) in its meeting here, today has reiterated the demand of carving out of Kashyap State within Valley for rehabilitation of displaced Pandits there.
The ASKPC meeting was held under the chairmanship of R K Wangnoo its president. It said that Kashyap State demand was raised by former ASKPC president and Father of KP community, Pt. Amarnath Vaishnavi. It said the separate Kashyap State within Valley is the only solution to all problems of minority Hindus of Kashmir otherwise they will continue to face the problems.
It also expressed concern over the plight of Hindu minorities in Valley after the spurt of targeted killings and demanded that the families which have migrated from Valley be immediately registered as migrants as they are in great distress. It demanded effective measures be taken for safe return of displaced Pandits to valley without any delay.
The meeting among others was attended by Sueel Kumar Bhat, Bihari Lal Pandita, S K Raina, vice presidents, Veena Gurto, president Women Wing, Ravinder Raina , president Youth Wing and other trustees.
Meanwhile, M L Thusoo, P L Koul Budgami , president and convener of Kashmiri Hindus Conference (KHC) and Raj Nath Raina president Bangil Sabha have asked Government to clear its stand on fresh migration of Pandits from Valley especially Choudrigund village in Shopian district.
They termed the statement of administration denying that such migration has taken place as baseless and urged it to take tough steps to curb the militancy in the Valley and ensure all facilities including registration to new families which migrated from Kashmir.
In a joint statement they said that the administration termed the migration of KP families in Choudrigund as normal seasonal migration as harvest in Kashmir is over which has added salt to the injury.
Expressing anguish on such irresponsible and irrelevant statement they urged the LG to look into the matter and act against the officers responsible for this grave negligence of hurting sentiments of the community in exile . The leaders asked the Government to issue a white paper about the recent migration of 15 families from Kashmir.
They demanded that the Government should also come up with a detailed plan about the settlement of Pandits.
