ASKPC demands reservation for KPs in Legislature, Parliament

JAMMU, Feb 6: A meeting of the executive body of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) was held here today under the chairmanship of its president H L Chatta. The meeting was also attended by a well known scholar Prof T N Shalla who is the advisor of the organization and M L Malla.
It discussed the burning problems being faced by the community.
Addressing the meeting Prof Shalla said both State and Central Governments have failed to solve the problems of the displaced community and over 20 years have passed and the problems still continue as they were on the day first of migration.
He demanded that Kashmiri migrants be declared as internally displaced people and four seats for the community be reserved in State Assembly, two in Legislative Council and one each in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. He appealed all political parties to support the demand.
Addressing meeting B L Handoo assured full support from ASKPC to Vinod Pandita sitting on fast at Porebandar for last eight days. SK Bhat accused CADP Department for its failure in supplying APL ration to the migrants.
Subash Chatta gave details of membership drive and Bharat Bushan Bhat demanded enhancement of monthly relief to Rs 10,000.
