JAMMU, Feb 15: A delegation of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) led by its president, R K Wangnoo and accompanied by Ravinder Razdan, vice president, Sanjay Pandita and Bharat Bushan Bhat general secretaries of the organization met Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, T K Bhat and had deliberation regarding the day today problems which migrants face after exodus. The delegation sought attention of the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, towards redressal of problems which camp and non camp migrants are facing.
The issues which came in deliberation were Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) Golden Cards, announced by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant -Governor for J&K UT citizens, that was the major health scheme of Rs 5 lakh per household on a floating basis and would cover from day one COVID-19, cancer, kidney disease and other treatments for oncology, cardiology and Nephrology.
The delegation also discussed the issue of scarcity of potable water in Jagti migrant camp due to which diseases like Diarrhea, Gastroenteritis, Abdominal Pain, and cramps, Typhoid, Dysentery and Cholera were common in that area. In its reply, the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner assured the deputation with a promise that more than Rs 8 crore project for portable water in Jagti Camp would be started in near future.
It was also discussed that the monthly ration which was supplied to relief holders lacked quality so sought intervention of the Relief Organization for issuance of orders to the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department (FCS &CAD) for maintaining quality of the ration. The Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner assured for taking immediate action.
Further, the delegation sought that 6000 quarters for migrant PM package employees in Kashmir valley be allotted on merit basis and the Commissioner replied affirmative.
The ASKPC delegation complimented the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner for his cordial behavior and for dealing every problem of Kashmiri migrants very sympathetically and honestly.
