JAMMU, Nov 30: All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) held an urgent meeting here at Durga Nagar today and took serious note of the order issued by Director School Education, Kashmir which it termed as arbitrary and biased.
The meeting said that in the one of its recent orders, DSEK has invited application for free coaching in the competitive examinations like IIT-JEE, NEET, JKCET etc in all the districts of Kashmir Division. The order invites application for all those students who have qualified 10+2 or the candidates who have appeared in Class 12th annual examination can submit their application forms through online mode upto November 27 for the screening test scheduled to be held on December 2.
Director School Education, Kashmir, Dr G N Itoo has appealed parents to admit their wards in Super- 50 Tutorial through proper channel to take full benefits of the scheme.
Condemning this biased order, general secretary, ASKPC, T K Bhat said, “our organization has always highlighted the step motherly treatment meted by the administration in allocating resources to all three regions of the State, and this is the latest example of such acts.” Adding further, he said, “such acts of the State Government must be read in continuity of all the previous events and acts which led to allocation of resources to a particular region of the State leaving the rest two high and dry.”
Bhat said, “on the one hand the administration claims to be acting in an impartial manner and on the other hand it issues directions which lead to the benefit of Kashmir Valley alone.” Adding, “education breeds impartiality but ironically the very institution which acts as the custodian of impartiality becomes the harbinger of partiality maligning the whole eco system.”
While addressing the meeting president, ASKPC Adv. Ravinder Raina said, “our community has tolerated such marginalization ever since J&K acceded to India and it is primarily this marginalization which has led to our displacement.”
Calling upon the Governor of State, Satya Pal Malik to intervene in this matter, Raina said, “we hold the Governor office in high esteem and have faith that such marginalization and brazen exploitation will be checked forthwith by the office of Governor.”
He demanded equitable allocation of resources in all sectors especially education which connects to the future of our society, state and nation and stop treating students with a blue-eyed approach.”
