REASI, Mar 26: A serving Assistant Sub-Inspector of J&K Police along with an under-trial Sub-Inspector on parole, died in road accident at Reasi when their car rolled down in a deep gorge.

The deceased were identified as ASI Mohammad Mushtaq Bhat, son of Abdul Subhan Bhat and his maternal uncle Abdul Aziz, son of Habibullah, who was Sub-Inspector in J&K Police before being suspended three years ago for a murder case against him and had been lodged in Srinagar jail while facing trial.
Abdul Aziz was on parole on personal guarantee of his nephew ASI Mohd Mushtaq, who was taking him back to Srinagar Jail from their residence in village Baila, tehsil Mandi in Poonch district when they met with the fatal accident.
According to Additional SP Reasi, Surjeet Kumar, the car bearing registration number JK02CG-0752, in which the duo was travelling, rolled down into a deep gorge near Simbal Choya, resulting into on the spot death of both the persons.
The accident took place this morning when the duo was on way from Poonch to Srinagar, where ASI Mohd Mushtaq was posted and under-trial Abdul Aziz was lodged in jail.
On being informed, dead bodies of both the persons were shifted to hospital and later handed over to their families after conducting postmortem and other legal formalities.
