UDHAMPUR, Apr 11: Ashok Sharma’s collection of love poems, titled ‘Love Enigmatic’, was released here today by well known writer and historian, Padamshree Prof (Retd) Shiv Nirmohi.
Ashok Sharma is serving as Sr Lecturer of English in Govt HSS Thial, Udhampur. He has composed about 200 poems, out of which 63 have been included in this anthology and 67 in another book titled ‘Sundry Thoughts’ which is likely to be published very soon.
On this occasion, Dr Raman Kesar, Addl Transport Commissioner UT of J&K, famous writer and archaeologist Anil Paba, Prof Sumit Magotra and the family members of Ashok Sharma were present.
The speakers on the occasion, described Ashok Sharma as a great academician, besides being a prolific writer and poet. They said that Ashok Sharma has contributed a lot in highlighting the Dogra culture, traditions and heritage through his articles published in the newspapers from time to time. They hoped that his creative juices will continue to produce new books and add to literature.
Ashok Sharma said attributed his writing skill to the blessings of God, his parents and teachers, friends, students and members of his family.
Others who attended the book launch function, included Arunesh Kumar, Ashwani Kumar, Karan Singh and Bishan Sharma while Prof Sunil Bhardwaz conducted proceedings of the programme.
