Ashok Koul hands over Golden Cards to critically ill beneficiaries

JAMMU, June 2 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K general secretary (Organisation ), Ashok Koul accompanied by BJP Ayushman Incharge Puneet Mahajan, Mandal president, Keshav Chopra, Ayodhya Gupta and others handed over Ayushman Bharat Golden Card to critically ill beneficiaries at Talab Tillo, here for free medical health cover under the scheme AB PM-JAY.
Ashok Koul, speaking on the occasion, said Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) is a flagship scheme of the Indian Government’s National Health Policy which aims to provide free health coverage at the secondary and tertiary level to its bottom 40% poor and vulnerable population. PM-JAY is the world’s largest health assurance scheme which covers a population of the combined size of USA, Mexico and Canada.
The objective of this scheme is to provide cashless and free health benefits to the entitled beneficiaries. According to the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 6.30 lakh poor and vulnerable families of Jammu and Kashmir are entitled to it.
He also lauded the efforts of Puneet Mahajan for preparing Golden Cards of the beneficiaries free of cost.
Kaul, on the occasion, said that the people should opt for every welfare scheme. He requested the BJP workers to assist the agency to reach out to masses. He said that this will ensure that the benefit of the schemes will reach the most deserving persons and the intended beneficiary. He also called for active participation of the BJP workers to make the public aware about the other Centrally sponsored welfare schemes.
Keshav Chopra also underlined the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
Puneet Mahajan, on the occasion, said that he has been continuously involved in the procurement and distribution of Golden Cards since the start of the scheme and stressed that this is one of the schemes that has given direct benefit to the poor and needy population. He also told that Jammu and Kashmir has become the first State to distribute the highest number of Golden Cards under Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).
