JAMMU, Mar 7: Faculty of Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences and Hospital (ASCOMS), Sidhra, today held a peaceful one-hour protest in the College premises over non-payment of salary for last seven months.
All the faculty members under the umbrella of ASCOMS Medical Teachers’ Association (AMTA) assembled near Hospital building and took out a protest march towards Principal’s office. They also staged a silent dharna in front of the office of Director-Principal, who later came out of his office and listened to their grievances.
After the one-hour protest was over, all the faculty members resumed their duties in the interest of patient care and teaching.
Earlier, addressing the protesting faculty members, AMTA president, Rajesh Kumar Gupta, said that their protest will continue and may be intensified by them if their demand of salary is not met with soon.
