JAMMU, July 15: ASCOMS Employees Welfare Association (AEWA) has asked the general public to avoid visiting the Hospital for any kind of treatment as employees of the hospital are on indefinite strike after the hospital administration failed to concede their demands.
In a handout Association leaders stated: “Had there been any kind of service rules, promotion policy or had the management of the Hospital implemented the award passed by the Industrial Tribunal Labour Court Jammu in the year 2017, such situation would not have arisen.”
The Association also stated that keeping in view the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, they were never interested to halt functioning of the Hospital but the delay tactics of the Hospital management has forced them to do so.
“The paramedical employees of the Hospital have been working dedicatedly even amidst the pandemic and they have already lost one of their senior employee while discharging duties,” leaders of the Association maintained adding that the strike will continue till service benefits to the employees is not resolved along with the pending arrears from August 1, 2019.
They also said that there are many more demands which were agreed upon by the Hospital management in August 2019 but are still pending.
