Arvind discusses vaccination status with CS

JAMMU, July 10: J&K BJP secretary, Arvind Gupta, who has been nominated as Vaccination Incharge to liaison with administration on behalf of the party, met Chief Secretary, Arun Kumar Mehta, at Srinagar.
During meeting, progress of ongoing vaccination exercise was discussed and the Chief Secretary shared latest data with the BJP leader.
According to the Chief Secretary, till date, 92 per cent population of 45 plus age people have been vaccinated with the first dose and 18 per cent of 18 plus age are too injected the 1st dose.
In total, 42,38,916 people are covered with 1st dose and 8,07,606 people have been given even 2nd dose.
The BJP leader was also informed that J&K government has set a target to cover 70 per cent of the population by August end so that chances of 3rd wave remain bleak in J&K but the people should also understand the need to keep following the appropriate COVID behaviour till J&K becomes virus free.
The Chief Secretary also shared that J&K has achieved the distinction of being on rank first in vaccination.
Arvind Gupta told the Chief Secretary that his team in BJP is extending help to the people in matters related to vaccination and the doctors and para-medicos posted at Vaccination Centres set up by the Health Department are serving the people very well.
