This is possible with complete utilization of governance machinery in a fixed time frame of governments by conducting simultaneous elections for Centre and States.
This was stated by Arun Gupta, spokesperson, J&K BJP while he, accompanied by Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, Media in charge, J&K BJP, addressed a press conference at party Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, here, today.
“India got independent in 1947 and with the introduction of Representation of People Acts 1950-51 in India, four general elections along with State Assemblies were conducted simultaneously in 1952, 1957, 1962 and 1967. Premature dissolution of Lok Sabha on seven occasions and premature dissolution of Legislative Assembly on various occasions coupled with personal interest of leaders disturbed this electoral process”, said Arun Gupta.
