JAMMU, June 26: Reverting back to its core issues, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today said that abrogation of Article 370,  construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya, Uniform Civil Code, conservation of river Ganga and ban on cow slaughter is top on its agenda.
“Abrogation of Article 370, giving special constitutional position to Jammu and Kashmir State, construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, Uniform Civil Code, conservation of river Ganga and ban on cow slaughter in the country are the core issues for BJP”, party national general secretary, Dr Anil Jain told reporters here, today.
Dr Jain, who was flanked by senior BJP leader and former Deputy CM, Kavinder Gupta, party State general secretary, Dr Narinder Singh and BJP State Executive Member Surinder Sharma said that BJP has never given up these issues and the party is committed to them.
Terming them as core issues for BJP, Dr Jain said party has never forgotten any one of these issues.
In response to a question regarding allegations leveled by leaders of National Conference (NC) and Congress that BJP has not dissolved the State Assembly after imposition of Governor’s rule in the State as party is trying for horse trading, BJP leader said that no question of horse trading arises and allegations leveled by NC and Congress are totally baseless in this regard.
He said the main purpose of imposition of Governor’s rule in the State was to restore order and maintain peace in the Valley where members of security forces were targeted by terrorists and also a leading journalist was killed.
Accusing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which was BJP’s alliance partner in the State Government for not cooperating with the party ministers in development and implementation of Agenda of Alliance (AoA), he said after the repeated warnings and suggestions made by BJP ministers failed to yield results, the party was left with no option but to withdraw the support.
Dr Jain said the Union Government led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi gave full cooperation to the coalition in the State in implementation of AoA and development of all three regions of the State, but the response from PDP was cool. Refuting that the alliance between PDP and BJP was unholy as alleged by opposition parties, Jain said that the main objective of BJP was to wipe out terror from the State and put it on path of development.
He said there was no hesitation from Centre in development of the all three regions of the State and it cooperated fully with State Government by sanctioning the developmental projects like railways, roads, tunnels, power projects but unfortunately Mehbooba paid no attention to the same and when BJP Ministers tried to work she created impediments.
Making a dig at the Congress leadership, he alleged that the statements given by former Union Minister and senior Congress leader, Saif-ud-Din Soz and leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad in support of terrorists indicated that they wee toeing Pak line on Kashmir.
“The Congress should seek apology from the nation and clear its stand by condemning the statements of both Soz and Azad”. “It also owes an explanation to the nation that under what capacity Jai Ram Ramesh visited the venue of releasing the controversial book of Prof Saif-ud_Din Soz”, he added.
