JAMMU, May 13: Birthday of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a renowned spiritual Guru and the founder of International Art of Living Foundation, was celebrated with gaiety and fervour all over the india and across the world in 156 countries where Art of Living has the presence today.
The Art of Living – Jammu chapter organised several programmes, in tune with the organisation ideology of Sadhna, Seva and Satsang, to commemorate the occasion. A mesmerizing concert of divine music was organised in the evening at Abhinav Theatre, which was attended by a large number of people from all walks of life. Besides, a small meditation session, it included a performance by Ms Rajshree Ji, a renowned singer from Kolkatta, who kept the gathering enchanted with her rendition of blissful bhajans. The devotees were exhilarated experiencing divine energy generated in the satsang.
Earlier, Sudershan Kriya- arthymic breathing exercise evolved by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, was organised at all four centres of AOL across Jammu, which was attended by a very large number of followers of the revered Guru. The volunteers of Art of Living also put up a chabeel and organised a langar at Indira Chowk.
Participation of youth in huge numbers was witnessed in these programmes. In its endeavour to empower youth, Art of Living Jammu chapter has decided to organise youth empowerment and skill development course in various govt. colleges of J&K. With encouragement from Ms Priya Sethi, Minister for Information, Culture & Education, intro talks and pilot courses have been successfully conducted in all the five degree colleges of Jammu.
Another function was held at Shalamar road, Indira Chowk here by the devotees. Arunima Sinha, teacher Art of Living YLTP Coordinator, J&K State, S P Verma (Padam Shri Awardee) and Chairman Gandhian Rachnatmak Samaj, Neeraj Besain, teacher AOL, Ravi Puri secretary Red Cross, Prabha teacher, AOL, Surinder Gupta teacher AoL and Daljit Singh were present among many other devotees.
The programme was organized by Subash Kumar Shastri, Neelam Sharma, Romal Aggarwal, Ranu Aggarwal, Virender Singh Powar, Lalit Gupta, Gopal Panday, Meera Ambla, Reena Sharma, Arvind Kumar, Arinvder Agarwal, Jagdish Chowdhary, Sanjeev Sharma, Vikram Gupta, Kamal Arora, Anu Gugral, Deepak, Mohit Sharma and others.
