Arrangements for Navratra festival reviewed

KATRA, Oct 11: District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Nirmal Sharma convened a meeting of Navratra Festival Celebration Committee members here today to review preparation of Navratra Festival 2012.
The Navratra festival which is being organized here jointly by the State Tourism Department and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board with cooperation of local organizations and different departments including Municipality Katra.
Director Tourism, R. S. Mehta, Deputy Chief Executive Officer SMVDSB Rashpaul Singh, Chief Executive Officer Katra Development Authority Sudershan Kumar, Additional SP Katra Mohan Lal, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reasi Inderjeet, Joint Director Tourism Ajay Sharma, Executive Officer Municipality Katra Ravi Kumar, President Hotel & Restaurant Association Sham Lal Kesar, President Travel Association Surinder Khajuria, President Cultural Association Surinder Vakil, President Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma, Head devotional Song Competition  Event Rakesh Wazir besides Principal HSS Katra Tripta Bhardwaj, Senior Head Master GHS Katra Harish Dubey and other officers from different department attended the meeting.
The DDC said that lakhs of devotees from all over the country including those from the State are likely to pay their obeisance during these Navratra period commencing from 16th October 2012 and all out efforts will be made for the safe peaceful and comfortable yatra of pilgrims and conduct of Navratra festival activities.
He asked the XEn PWD to ensure blacktopping of road connecting Yog Ashram where all India Devotional Song Competition will be held and also complete other necessary repair of other works well before the Navratra festival. He also directed the PHE and Power Department to ensure proper supply in the town as well as on all the venues where Navratra festival celebrations events will be held.
The DDC urged the members of the Navratra Celebration Committee that their suggestions would be given due consideration and sought their cooperation in making the Navratra festival a grand success.
Later, she visited bus stand Katra, Yog Ashram, New Bus Stand area and Banganga road.
