As many as 20 shops gutted completely in a major fire that broke out under mysterious circumstances in Katra town-the base of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Shrine in Reasi district.
“A mysterious fire broke out during wee hours today in Naya Bazar area,” police here said.
They said the devastating fire spread in around 20 shops of dry fruits, medicines, garments and hosiery.
“The shops were completely perished in the fire and goods worth lakhs got damaged,” they said. However, fire tenders were pressed into service and the flames were doused timely from spreading to the nearby market.
A case has been registered and investigations started, police said. (AGENCIES)
