Arora seeks deportation of Bangladeshis from Jammu

JAMMU, Jan 19: BJP Member Ramesh Arora today strongly raised the issue of  illegal settlement of over 11,000  Bangladeshis and Myanmar nationals in various slums and unauthorized Colonies  of Jammu city, during Question Hour in the Upper House.
While describing this trend a most dangerous for the security  of the State and demography of  Jammu, the BJP member said that Govt in its reply in the Legislature  has admitted that over 11,000 foreign nationals are illegally residing in various slum areas and unauthorised colonies  of Jammu. He asked whether Govt would take action and deport these illegal settlers. He pressed for reply from the Govt.
Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology. Ch Lal Singh said that matter has come to the notice of the Govt and the Government would take all possible steps to deport  these foreigners languishing in Jammu.  The Minister said that  in last many decades, West Pak refugees are unable to get citizenship rights in the State, how can Bangladeshis be settled here. The Govt would take strict action in this regard, he assured the Member.
