Army starts computer, welding courses for youth

RAMBAN, Sept 25: The fortnightly basic courses in Computer and Welding were started by the Army here today under the aegis of CIF (Delta) under the Sadbhavna Programme.
In his inaugural address, the Commanding Officer, 109, TA (Maratha) LI, Alex Mohan exhorted the local trainees to avail the benefit of these courses to enhance their skills, which could help them in earning livelihood.
As many as 13 trainees including 9 girls from local Government and private schools besides two teachers have been enrolled in the basic computer course while as 15 boys of surrounding villages would be imparted the basic welding training by the trainers of the battalion under the supervision of Maj SB Singh.
The classes for these courses would be of 2 to 3 hours duration daily in the morning before school classes.
A free transport arrangement has also been made for the trainees and the successful trainees shall be given the certificates on the last day of their courses.
