Army ready to face any challenge: GOC 16 Corps

The Army today said that it was fully ready to face any challenge that may emerge in the future and ready to counter the same with all its might.
General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Nagrota-based 16 Corps of the Army, Lt Gen K H Singh said this at the core group security meeting held at the headquarters of the 16 Corps to take stock of the prevailing security situation south of Pir Panchal in the ten districts of Jammu region.
“The Army is ready to face any challenges that may emerge in the future and is ready to counter it with all its might,” Gen Singh said.
“The Army and its various formations deployed south of Pir Panchal have been most proactively and aggressively dominating the Line of Control and the hinterland thereby assuring a peaceful and secure environment in the area,” he said.
Besides Gen Singh the meeting was co-chaired by Director General of Police K Rajendra Kumar, IG CID, Inspector General CRPF (J&K Zone), Inspector General CRPF (Jammu Zone), IGP Jammu, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Chief Engineer Sampark and DIG from BSF.
The meeting was also attended by several top officials of Army, police, security and intelligence agencies.
A joint strategy was chalked out in great details between all the agencies to ensure peace and stability in the region and ensure incident free environment.
Gen Singh appreciated the high level of synergy in operations exhibited by all agencies in recent times. (AGENCIES)
