Rajouri, June 2: A Rashtriya Rifles battalion, based at Thannamandi and Daraba, under Romeo Force, distributed study material among the students of Govt Middle School, Darrah and Govt Higher Secondary School, Bafliaz, today.
Note books and school bags were distributed among school children of these remote areas, in presence of school staff, parents and village elders. Teachers and parents present on the occasion said that such events organized by the Army have a very positive influence on the children.
Army officers delivered a series of motivational lectures at Govt Higher Secondary School, Manjakote to motivate the young girls and boys to join the Defence forces. The students were made aware of the procedure and preparation required for joining the Army as Commissioned Officers.
Mohd Sharief, the ZEO Thannamandi and Abdul Haq, the Sarpanch of Darrah said that such gestures by the Indian Army are very touching and encouraging. Sunil Datta, representing BDO Bafliaz and Imtiaz Kazmi, the Vice Principal of Govt Higher Secondary School, Bafliaz also expressed gratitude towards the Army.
