JAMMU, Oct 1: Army today provided blankets to the unprivileged children at Pattan in Srinagar and furniture to various Government schools of Nowshera tehsil in Rajouri district.
In a unique and a distinct initiative, 52 Rashtriya Rifles of 10 Sector provided 40 blankets to the children of Al-Noor Ibrahim Welfare Trust and Yatim Khana, Pattan, on the occasion of Unit’s Raising Day.
Mohd Shafi Maian, Trust president and Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat, Trust chairman, along with staff were present during the presentation ceremony.
Meanwhile, to promote education in border areas, Rashtriya Rifles Battalion located at Kalal under the aegis of Uniform Force Headquarter Reasi, donated furniture and various ancillary items for the students of Government Schools at Dhandyala, Dandesar, and Chapper villages of Nowshera tehsil.
A painting competition for the students on the theme ‘My India, Developing India’ was also held on the occasion, highlighting the strides of development made by the country.
