POONCH, Sept 25: The foot of an Army porter was blown up in a mine blast near the Line of Control in Mandi area of district Poonch today.
Official sources said that mishap took place when the porter was carrying some load to an Army picket at some forward location in Saujian area of Mandi Sub Division this afternoon. Then by mistake, he over stepped a mine which exploded with big bang, causing serious injuries to his foot and legs.
Identified as Sajjad Ahmed, son of Mohd Akram, resident of Chhamber Kanari village in Mandi, he was rushed to nearby Unit hospital by the jawans and then referred to District Hospital, Poonch.
