Army pays tributes to gallant soldier Chuni Lal

JAMMU, June 24: To commemorate martyrdom of Late Naib Subedar Chuni Lal, the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under Delta Force organised “Shahidi Diwas” at Gatha Park, Bhadarwah, today.
The programme started with a wreath laying ceremony on the statue of the brave soldier, Late Naib Subedar Chuni Lal by Commanding Officer.
Remembering, the ‘Son of the Soil’ on the occasion was an apt recognition of the supreme sacrifice made by the gallant soldier.
During the ceremony, the Army also invited Veer Naris, Veterans and NCC Cadets from Bhadarwah Tehsil, in an effort to reach out to valuable and esteemed veterans, residing in remote areas of Bhadarwah.
Six Veer Naris including Chinta Devi, wife of Late Naib Subedar Chuni Lal, 45 Veterans and 20 NCC Cadets were present on the occasion.
The veterans were informed about the latest welfare measures being extended by the Government of India and the Army, through pamphlets. The widows were felicitated with gifts.
Speaking on the occasion, one of the Veterans, Naib Subedar Raj Singh Charak (Retired) resident of Gatha, Bhadarwah said that “It feels nice to be recognized by the organisation in which they have served during their prime time of youth and wished that this association continues forever”.
