Army organizes street plays on Road Safety

POONCH, July 18: The Rashtriya Rifles Battalions, under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo), organized street plays in various towns here as part of its Road Safety programme, organised from July 16 to 18, 2013.
The aim of organizing the street plays was to educate the local populace about the nuances of safe driving and basic road safety etiquettes.
The event generated tremendous response from the attendees as message was conveyed in this interesting and unconventional manner. These street plays made the people aware, especially the youth, about the importance of following the traffic rules and the dangers of over speeding, rash driving and overloading of vehicles.
At end of plays, the participants took a pledge to follow the traffic rules and ensure road safety. The locals present on the occasion thanked the Army for organizing the road safety drive in an innovative and unique manner for easy understanding.
